日本の災害。2019年10月12日に日本に上陸した。猛烈な風が吹いたり記録的な大雨となった地域が出た。また、河川が氾濫したり堤防が決壊した場所も出た。
・2019年10月13日5時の時点で宮古市の東南東約100kmに存在、中心気圧は975hPa、大きさは大型の台風。最大瞬間風速は45m/s。
・2019年10月12日20時の時点で小田原市付近に存在、中心気圧は960hPa、大きさは大型、強さは「強い」勢力の台風。最大瞬間風速は55m/s。
・2019年10月12日12時の時点で八丈島の西に存在、中心気圧は945hPa、大きさは大型、強さは「非常に強い」勢力の台風。最大瞬間風速は60m/s。

・2019年10月12日午前の時点で、暴風、大雨、高潮のおそれ。雨量や最大瞬間風速など東日本では記録的な数字になるのではないかと予想されている。非常に広範囲に影響がある台風とされる。
鉄道など計画運休が予定されているところもあるため、運行情報をチェックするとよい。
なお、影響が及ぶと考えられている各地の遊園地が休園やイベントなどが中止になったりしているようであるため、営業しているかどうかは確認するとよい。企業によっては計画休業をする企業も出てきている。

・TV番組などで1958年の狩野川台風（死者・行方不明者が1000人以上）に匹敵するなどの紹介がされていた。
・2019年10月9日には気象庁が台風19号接近に異例の緊急会見を行った。
